Seek and ye shall find

NomWatch overload. Bit of a WestWorld moment over here. As a result, you get all the links, with a slight snark reduction.

Adscam whistleblower (which sounds a little like a circa 1998 indie band) Allan Cutler will seek the Conservative nomination in Ottawa South, presently held by celebrity sibling David McGuinty.

It's also a good day to be a former Progressive Conservative turned Liberal. John Loewen is such a creature, and is now the Liberal candidate in Winnipeg's Charleswood-St. James-Assiniboia. The much ballyhooed Bruck Easton has made things official in Windsor-Tecumseh.

Marc Garneau will be the Liberal candidate in Vaudreuil-Soulanges, a state of affairs that seems to have carved Nick Discepola into small pieces and precluded a comeback for the former Liberal MP defeated in 2004. So says the G&M. They also helpfully add that Tory turned Liberal David Price will seek to reclaim his seat of Compton-Standstead in the Liberal interest - he was also turfed by the electorate in 2004.

Former BC Liberal MLA Joyce Murray will face present MP Paul Forseth and former MP Dawn Black in New Westminster-Coquitlam-Port Moody, according to the Tri-City News.

Fresh from a recent rejection by the voters, Doug McCallum - until last Saturday Mayor of of Surrey, B.C. is considering giving the voters a second chance. This time, he wants them to make him the Liberal MP for South Surrey-White Rock-Cloverdale. This gem courtesy of the charmingly named Peace Arch News.

Overdue Roundup

Damn this Real Life. Here we are, trying to keep a pot on the stove, blog-wise, but the doorbell keeps ringing. In any event, we provide all this, for you, from us.

Quimby is officially in. Almost.

Efford is out. Finally.

Perhaps in our haste, we failed to pay close attention to the selection of Christian Provenzano, nephew of former Sault Ste. Marie MP Carmen Provenzano as the Liberal candidate in the aforementioned riding. Here's a sycophantic article and a picture of him and former MP once removed Ron Irwin in the snow.

Stealth Liberal in Peace River! (Also, Chris Warkentin replaces Conservative MP Charlie Penson, and Susan Thompson runs for the NDP).

Oh, and Paul Wells is keeping tabs on Bob Rae, with an eye to his future...

And is former Edmonton councillor and defeated mayoral candidate Robert Noce going to further frustrate poor Nicole Martel and compete for the Edmonton East Liberal nomination?

Oh, and behind the Wall of Globe is the news that Stephen Harper is chasing a Russ Courtnall candidacy in B.C. (a story previously rubbished here) and a Kirk Muller candidacy in Kingston and the Islands. Take that, Dryden!
